Taught by Someone Who Understands How You Learn

Meagan Pon is the teacher behind Rooted in Music and she brings more to every lesson than most music teachers can.

She holds four post-secondary degrees: a Bachelor of Arts and Science in Music & Psychology, a Bachelor of Education in Elementary Education, and two Master's degrees - one in Counselling Psychology and one in Music Education. She's a certified Alberta teacher and Music for Young Children (MYC) instructor.

What this means in practice: Meagan understands how children develop, how adults process new skills, and how to build a lesson around the way a student actually learns, not a one-size-fits-all approach.

She's been teaching since 2012, and her students range from babies in her Early Childhood Classes to adults learning piano for the first time. Whoever you are, there's a lesson format that fits.

Certifications include:

  • BASc Music & Psychology

  • MEd Counselling Psychology

  • BEd Elementary Education

  • MEd Music Education

  • Certified Alberta Teacher

  • MYC Trained

  • RCM Certified Teacher

  • Orff Specialist

  • Kodaly Specialist
